HUDSON VALLEY
CONSORTIUM
ACTIVITIES
HVC offers so many activities and opportunities outside of our normal class offerings. We believe that these outside opportunities not only foster learning, but creates strong bonds among our students.
Each year, teachers and parents organize several fantastic field trips for our students. Past field trips have included visits to:
-
New York City, where students saw Broadway shows, went on walking tours, and visited museums,
-
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, where students explored the history of the Civil War,
-
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where students learned about the history of America's founding,
-
Boston, Massachusetts, where students walked the Freedom Trail and toured foundational historical sites,
-
Wood's Hole, Massachusetts, where students enjoyed beautiful Cape Cod,
-
Six Flags Great Escape, for a day of bonding and fun.
There are also many social and academic events to participate in year-round, such as:
-
Science Fairs
-
School Dances
-
Talent Shows
-
Prom
-
Graduation
We also are very proud of our Mock Trial and Science Olympiad Teams! Our Mock Trial team won the Albany County Championship 3 years in a row (2014-2016), and our Science Olympiad Division B Team has competed in the State Competition for the past 3 years (2015-2017).
All of these opportunities are made possible through the hard work and dedication of our wonderful teachers, parents, and students.
