Dear HVC members! As school year's end approaches, it is time to start thinking about standardized testing. I will be coordinating the effort to provide this testing at the end of the semester (May 31st and June 1st) for HVC students. Starting next Tuesday (March 14th) there will be a sign-up sheet at the front desk each Tues and Thurs until March 30. Optional Graduation Dinner Dance after Graduation Ceremony
Our Graduation Dinner Dance will take place at the Edison Club June 3rd from 5:30 to 9:30. The cost of the diner dance is $30.00 for adults and $14.00 for students 13 years and under. Emails are now being sent to the senior parents. Some of the students have worked our volunteer events to earn a free ticket. HVC Mock Trial Team Secures a Spot at the Albany County Semi-finals! The HVC Mock Trial Team continued its winning streak last Wednesday in another critical win over Voorheesville. This is the 16th consecutive win in the Albany County tournament since the team formed in 2014. We played the defense and had the honor of having a federal judge preside over the trial. Mrs Paluch is arranging a NO COST Field trip to Ten Broeck Mansion in Albany on Saturday 3/11 ! I had the privilege of attending this wonderful audience interactive show that brings to life the trials and hardships faced by women and men in order to secure the right for woman to vote in the United States. The HVC Mock Trial Team beat the Albany Academies last Wednesday night in a competition at the courthouse in downtown Albany. This match is the first in the Albany County Mock Trial Tournament. HVC homeschoolers compete against both public and private schools in Albany County. This is the 4th season for the HVC Mock Trial team who has previously won this tournament three times. Consortium's Science Olympiad Team Wins a spot at the NY State Competition for the Third Straigh
Consortium's Science Olympiad team medaled in 15 of the 24 events and we had an additional three 4th place finishes which were essential to our overall team score. This is an honor for any school.
